Conclusion/Relevance: Our case, along with the few prior reported cases, demonstrate hypertriglyceridemic pancreatitis can occur during IVF. Further work is needed to understand the effects of exogenous estrogen on lipids for women undergoing IVF.

    This is an interesting article. I wonder if this was somehow related to OCP and estrogen being associated with some hepatobiliary conditions. It also mentioned that this is only the 8th case reported, meaning it is very rare or probably underreported. Could it also have a genetic predisposition? Would be curious to know if this condition will preclude women from using combination OCP in the future.
